April Favorites

My April favorites! A little bit of everything this month, so let’s get right into it.

Makeup Favorite: Tarte Pro to Go Palette

This palette has been in my collection for a while now.

I featured this in my eyeshadow collection post recently, but I’ve really been getting into it as of late. I love my Colourpop palettes, but I’ve been meaning to explore more brands that I have laying around too.

Although I still feel it’s hard to blend out nicely, the shades are just so beautiful and pigmented. I’ve really been getting into the shade Boss specifically. Also the chocolate smell is a nice bonus!

Skincare Favorite: Aveeno Salicylic Acid Cleanser

(excuse some of those photos: some are really old!)

I featured this product in my first ever post!

I’ve been using it for a while, but I happened to get Hyram’s Inkey List bundle and it came with a Salicylic acid cleanser, so I’m eager to try out it out.

For for now, I thought I’d mention the Aveeno cleanser since it’s been a staple for so long! I really recommend it for anyone who struggles with minor breakouts and wants a gentle wash to help. It’s effective, but it’s only 0.5%, so it’s very gentle for all skin types.

Life Style Favorite: Farmers Markets

A bit of a cheat since I’ve only been once this month, but our local farmers markets are starting to open up!

I always love the feel of our farmer’s market, as it has that kind of local vibe with a variety of products. It’s really so interesting to buy local cheese and bakery goods and hear from the makers themselves.

It also really inspires me to work on this blog! Seeing so many small, local businesses always gets me interested in creating more interesting content. Plus, great produce of course.

A Note To My Readers

My freshman year is coming to an end rather fast. I’m going to be a sophomore and still have only gone on campus twice! I think it’ll be a rough start, but I’m glad to welcome a new normal for the next three years.

But for now though I’m welcoming a much needed break. I’m using this as an opportunity to study and learn more about my career choices, but also upgrade this blog.

If all goes according to plan, I want to get my own domain and start newsletters. I set up a Twitter for this blog (see below) and Instagram is in the process. I really want to take this blog to the next level, seeing as I still love it after the past three months.

So expect a lot of new and better content in the future!

Blog Stats:

I will also try and post the blog’s stats every month. Again, keep in mind I’m new! I have a lot of growing to do.

Blog Views: 70

Blog Followers: 24 (up from 14)

Total Likes: 57

  • Followers: 7
  • Impressions: 3.1k (+258%)
  • Saves: 23 (+283%)
  • Engagements: 91 (+145%)
  • Total Audience: 902 (+1,102%)
  • Engaged Audience: 11 (+450%)

All steady improvements! My Pinterest numbers aren’t too high, but my percentage growth from the previous month makes me feel a lot better. I’m still struggling with traffic on WordPress, but I’ll keep trying new methods.

Tell me your twitter handle and I’ll likely give you a follow! My twitter is brand new and I’d like to say hello to some people in the community.

So that has been my month! The beginning flew by but there’s a lot of important dates coming up very soon. Finals, but also the start of gardening season, so I’ll make sure to keep you all updated.

Pre-writing posts helps a lot, but there’s some types of posts (like this one!) that can’t be created too far in advance. But, tell me how your month went! Any new beauty products or something your loving about spring?

Let me know!
