My Affordable Makeup Favorites

AFF*| Sometimes, it can be difficult to find makeup all in one place, especially if you love a mixture of affordable and high end makeup.

So for today’s post, I want to share my essential makeup favorites from Amazon so that you can easily find everything in one place. As a bonus, these are all drugstore and affordable prices!

*This post contains affiliated links, which means I’ll make a small commission if you decide to buy any of these products from Amazon. This is at no extra cost to you, but don’t feel pressured to use my links.

Primer: NYX Professional Makeup The Marshmellow Smoothing Primer

The Marshmellow Smoothing Primer | NYX Professional Makeup

This primer is fairly new, but very popular. It’s affordable, smoothing and is infused with marshmallow extract to soften the skin.

What I love about this product is that it’s smoothing but doesn’t pill, which can be a problem for some primers. It creates a nice base to apply makeup over and has a soft matte finish. Also, don’t you love the baby pink packaging? So cute!

It’s a little pricey for a drugstore primer, but at the time of this post it’s cheaper on Amazon than their own website! It costs around $17, but comes with a full fluid ounce so it should last you a decent amount of time.

Foundation: L’Oreal Paris Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation in a Powder L'Oreal Paris Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation in a Powder, Up to 24H Wear, Radiant Honey, 0.31 oz.: Beauty

Another current viral product, I like this foundation because it provides lots of coverage, but doesn’t look cakey.

Powder can be easier to control that a liquid depending on if you use a sponge, fluffy or compact brush. Powder foundations are also amazing for those of us with oily skin, or if you’re someone who wants to skip the setting powder all together.

It comes in 15 shades with a decent range, although they don’t have a very deep shade without a reddish undertone, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, they have a good range, and shades for those of us who are very pale.

Did I mention this is waterproof as well? It comes in at around $11 give or take on Amazon. If the price is a little higher, then consider waiting a little while and it might drop. Amazon can work like that sometimes.

Concealer: E.l.f Hydrating Camo Concealer

Hydrating Camo Concealer | e.l.f. Cosmetics

This is one of my favorite products! It’s the Hydrating Camo Concealer which was made after the matte-finished Camo Concealer did so well.

It’s full coverage, non-cakey, and has a light satin finish that looks natural and just a little glowy. I love the doe-foot applicator which is big but not too giant. Although it comes in a lot of different shades, there’s limited options on Amazon. Consider using darker shades to contour!

Although it’s hydrating, it’s great for all skin types as the hydration provides comfort and moisture, but isn’t greasy. If I am to recommend only one product off this list, I highly recommend this one!

It costs around an affordable $6, so it really can’t be beat.

Blush: Essence Mosaic Blush in the Shade 20- All You Need Is Pink : essence | Mosaic Blush | 20 All You Need Is Pink : Beauty

Looking for the most affordable, yet still pigmented blush? Look no further.

This blush comes in a few different shades, but the one I love is called the shade 20, All You Need Is Pink. Although multi-colored blushes aren’t everyone’s treat, it tends to blend into a nice well-mixed single color.

Because this blush is buildable, you’re able to swirl your brush around to get a more even color. I have no issues with my blush appearing in different shades with this product.

It comes in a clear, study compact and the product itself feels very soft and silky. I love how pretty the finish is- a soft matte, or even a satin. If you need a more deeper version, they have that as well.

At a whopping $6, you can’t go wrong.

Bronzer: Physicians Formula Monoi Butter Bronzer

Matte Monoi Butter Bronzer | Physicians Formula

Ever heard of the Physicians Formula’s Murumuru Butter Bronzer? If not, I’d be a little surprised! This is their newest release, this time in a matte version with monoi butter.

I adore the packaging on this bronzer! The flowers, beach sand and leaves really create a beautiful image on the cover. The imprint with the tropical flowers is beautiful too.

Like I said earlier, this is a matte bronzer with a neutral undertone. It’s a smidge more cooler than your average bronzer despite the photo, but not enough for me to categorize it as a cool-toned bronzer.

I believe it still comes in it’s original packaging, which comes with a mirror, and a space for a brush. A majority of people complain it’s unnecessarily bulky, but I’ve heard they’re getting rid of the brush to make it more sleek. I don’t think that change has been incorporated with these Amazon ones though. Hopefully soon!

Otherwise, it’s a nicely-pigmented bronzer that’s current sale price is $11, but can go as high as $15. I definitely recommend it for it’s product, but also the pretty packaging.

Eyeshadow: E.l.f Bite-Size Eyeshadow in Rosewater e.l.f, Bite-Size Eyeshadows, Creamy, Blendable, Ultra-Pigmented, Easy to Apply, Rose Water, Matte & Shimmer, 0.12 Oz: Beauty

Okay, I lied, this is the cheapest product in this kit. This comes at a whole $3, and occasionally even a little cheaper on Amazon.

I love this palette for a lot of reasons. The colors, the packaging, the size and all. The colors are soft and neutral, but pack a decent punch of pigment. You also don’t have to worry about them blending into nothing or being too powdery. The shimmers feel very soft and comes with a perfect range from transition to outer corners.

The packaging is a basic clear color with a white base, but it’s very study and compact. I love quads and I especially love this longer format instead of your basic quad square. It’s perfect for travel if you want a one-and-done look all week long and comes in several color options from neutral to more colorful.

If you are looking for an everyday shadow quad for travel, I think this is great. Also good for people who are beginners or not good with eyeshadow since it blends so easily.

Mascara: Maybelline Sky High Waterproof Mascara

New Lash Sensational Sky High Waterproof Mascara - Maybelline

This mascara has made it’s rounds in the makeup community, but I still love it. I hate clumpy mascara, so this fits my personal bill perfectly.

It focuses on length and separation, giving your eyelashes a fuller look without worrying about clumping. It provides decent volume and dark lashes, although if you like extreme volume, this may not be for you. It’s great for everyday wear and can be built up to a degree.

The price comes just under $9 and it comes in this beautiful tube with a raised font. The mascara wand is plastic with little bendable bristles, which makes it perfect for separation.

This is a great option for everyday wear. If don’t want the waterproof version, they have a washable and brownish-black color available as well.

Brows: NYX Professional Makeup Micro Brow Pencil : NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Micro Brow Pencil, Eyebrow Pencil - Taupe : Beauty

One of the most popular brow pencils out there is this one by NYX. It’s a micro brow pencil with a spoolie on one end and the product on the other that comes in several shades.

I love this product because of it’s small design and great formula. Having a soft brush on the other end is another bonus, making it nice for travel. You can’t go wrong with the price- usually $10, but sometimes on sale for $8.

I didn’t know what color I should go with as I have dark, almost black eyebrows, but I don’t like very dark brows. I went for the shade Taupe (pictured above) and it has been working well for me. Having a drugstore option for brows is really nice because of how often you can go through them. Pencils especially don’t have a lot of product so it’s good to have an affordable option available.

Lips: NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss

Butter Gloss | NYX Professional Makeup

These pigmented glosses are so beautiful and shiny. They comes in a wide variety of colors, including a lot of brown nudes and even a blue. These are not sheer unless you get a light shade, and the darker colors show up like glossy full lipstick colors.

I love the price of this gloss- $5 USD- and how it has a ton of different options. It’s glossy, but not too shiny or sticky. They are also continuing to come out with new shades and as of right now, they come in 28 shades.

It also comes with a decent amount of product at 0.27 fluid ounces, but is still small enough to throw into your purse. These colors can be used on their own or on top of lip liners and lipsticks to make a glossy finish. I like to use them on their own, but can work either way.

So what do you think? Have you tried any of these products? What are your summer essentials? Let me know!
